PENYULUHAN HUKUM PERLINDUNGAN DATA PRIBADI DI SUB DIREKTORAT HUKUM KORPORAT PT PLN (PERSERO)

Abstract

One of the challenges faced by PT PLN
(Persero) as a State-Owned Electricity Company, is
the phenomenon of technological disruption. In line
with this, currently PT PLN (Persero) has digitized its
generation, transmission and distribution operations,
as well as digitized customer service. Digitalization of
customer service is carried out by PT PLN (Persero)
by launching the New PLN Mobile application on
December 18, 2020. PLN customers through the New
Mobile PLN application can access all services via
smartphones. The launch of New PLN Mobile
ultimately made PLN an Electronic System Operator.
Based on Government Regulation Number 71 of 2019
concerning the Implementation of Electronic Systems
and Transactions, PLN as an Electronic System
Operator has obligations, especially obligations
related to the management, processing, storage and
guarantee of customer personal data protection. The
activity called "Knowledge Sharing" at the Sub-
Directorate of Corporate Law was held through a
webinar legal counseling method with the theme
"Personal Data Protection". The participants were
136 people. The material presented in this webinar is
about (1) background on the need for personal data
protection, (2) Which belongs to the category of
personal data, (3) Rights and obligations of Electronic
System Operators and Users. The results of this legal
webinar are (1) increasing understanding related to
personal data protection, and (2) understanding the
obligations of PLN as an Electronic System Operator,
especially related to personal data.
