PERAN STRATEGI PEMOLISIAN MASYARAKAT DALAM PENCEGAHAN EKSTREMISME KEKERASAN YANG MENGARAH PADA TERORISME

Abstract

A strategy on community-oriented policing is belived
to be the soft approach in countering violent extremism leading
to terrorism, especially when it is mandated under the
Presidential Regulation No, 7 year 2021 on National Action Plan
on Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism. However,
there are often misinterpret the strategy to be an approach to
encourage civilians to do surveilence, which can create suspicion
and tention between community. Thus, it is important to have
socialication, as part of academic community service, to raise
awareness of the strategy to be proper in place to relevant
stakeholders, ultimately the community policing officers
especially at village level (Bhabinkamtibmas). The training
organized by Jakarta Law Enforcement Center (JCLEC), on
which the author has participated to deliver the training, has
given significant impact especially in relation to actions made by
participants from their new acquired knowledge. The adultlearning
method (andragogy) applied in the training has
enchirced the participants experience and knowledge which is
needed for the skill improvement of the participants for using the
strategy properly.
