Publication Ethics

Journal Coaching Education Sports is a peer-reviewed journal published by the Department of physical education, health, and recreation, Pendidikan Kepelatihan Olahraga. This journal is available in print and online and highly respects the publication ethic and avoids any type of plagiarism. This statement explains the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the act of publishing an article in this journal, including the author, the editor-in-chief, the editorial board, the peer-reviewers­­­­­, and the publisher. This statement is based on COPE’s (Committee on Publication Ethics) Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors. 

The statement of ethics code for scientific publications is based on the Regulation of the Head of LIPI Number 5 of 2014 concerning the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications, which in essence, the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications is essentially upholding three ethical values ​​in publications, namely:

  1. Neutrality, which is free from conflicts of interest in the management of publications;
  2. Justice, giving authorship rights to those who are entitled as authors/writers; and
  3. Honesty, which is free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism (DF2P) in publications

 

Duties and Responsibilities of Chief Editor:

  1. Determine the name of the journal, scientific scope, scale, and accreditation if needed;
  2. Determine the membership of the editorial board;
  3. Defining the relationship between publishers, editors, reviewer, and other parties to a contract;
  4. Appreciate things that are confidential, good for researchers contributors, authors, editors, and reviewer;
  5. Applying norms and provisions regarding the right to property intellectual property, especially copyright;
  6. Review journal policies and submit them to writers, editors, peer partners, and readers;
  7. Create code of conduct guides for editors and reviewer;
  8. Publish a journal regularly;
  9. Ensuring the availability of sources of funds for sustainability journal publishing;
  10. Building cooperation and marketing networks; and
  11. Prepare licensing and other legal aspects.

 

Duties and Responsibilities of Journal Editor:

  1. Editors’ decisions to accept or reject a paper for publication should be based only on the paper’s importance, originality, and clarity, and the study’s relevance to the remit of the journal.
  2. Studies that challenge previous work published in the journal should be given an especially sympathetic hearing.
  3. Studies reporting negative results should not be excluded.
  4. All original studies should be peer reviewed before publication, taking into full account possible bias due to related or conflicting interests.
  5. Editors must treat all submitted papers as confidential.
  6. When a published paper is subsequently found to contain major flaws, editors must accept responsibility for correcting the record prominently and
    promptly

 

Duties and Responsibilities of Peer Review:

  1. Suggestions from authors as to who might act as reviewers are often useful, but there should be noobligation on editors to use those suggested.
  2. The duty of confidentiality in the assessment of a manuscript must be maintained by expert reviewers, and this extends to reviewers’ colleagues who may be asked (with the editor’s permission) to give opinions on specific sections.
  3. The submitted manuscript should not be retained or copied.
  4. Reviewers and editors should not make any use of the data, arguments, or interpretations, unless they have the authors’ permission.
  5. Reviewers should provide speedy, accurate, courteous, unbiased and justifiable reports.
  6. If reviewers suspect misconduct, they should write in confidence to the editor.
  7. Journals should publish accurate descriptions of their peer review, selection, and appeals processes.
  8. Journals should also provide regular audits of their acceptance rates and publication times.

 

Duties and Responsibilities of Author:

  1. Ensure that the list of authors complies criteria as a writer;
  2. Collectively responsible for work and content manuscripts/articles covering methods, analysis, calculations, and details;
  3. State the origin of the resources (including funding), either directly or indirectly;
  4. Describe the limitations of the study;
  5. Responding to comments made by reviewer professional and punctual;
  6. Notifies the editor if you are going to withdraw his written works; and
  7. Make a statement that the paper submitted for publication is original, never published anywhere in any language, and is not in the process of being submitted to another publisher.
