Abstract

Waste management using the Reuse, Reduce and Recycle method or known as 3R has been introduced to the public by the government, researchers and other institutions more than 10 years ago. This method is effective in reducing the volume of waste and also the negative impacts caused by waste. In the Perwira sub-district, Bekasi City has implemented waste management with this method but is limited to inorganic waste. This paper reports on the program for developing an organic waste management system into a community-based innovation product. This activity consists of a quantitative study of waste production, workshops on waste management to become innovative products and have market value. The results of the evaluation of this activity show that there is an increase in public awareness of organic waste management, increased insight into innovative product development systems and digital marketing strategies. More than 70% of the community felt that this activity was useful and needed to be continued.
