Focus and Scope

JUCOSCO: Journal of Computer Science Contributions is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that publishes scholarly articles derived from community service, community empowerment, and community engagement activities involving the application of computer science and related disciplines.

JUCOSCO welcomes manuscripts that present the implementation of technology, applied innovation, training, mentoring, technology transfer, digital transformation, or other evidence-based solutions designed to address real-world problems faced by communities, educational institutions, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, micro, small, and medium enterprises, and other community partners.

The scope of JUCOSCO includes, but is not limited to, the following areas:

  • Informatics;

  • Computer Science;

  • Computational Science;

  • Informatics Engineering;

  • Computer Engineering;

  • Computer Systems;

  • Computer Science and Instrumentation;

  • Digital Systems;

  • Information Systems;

  • Informatics Management;

  • Digital Technology;

  • Digital Business; and

  • Computerized Accounting.

Manuscripts from other areas of engineering, computing, information technology, and interdisciplinary studies may also be considered, provided that they demonstrate a clear application of knowledge or technology in community service and empowerment activities.

Submitted manuscripts are expected to describe the partner’s needs or problems, methods of program implementation, community or partner participation, program outputs, evaluation results, measurable benefits or impacts, and the potential sustainability of the implemented program.

Purely theoretical studies, laboratory experiments, system development, or technical research without clear implementation, participation, and benefits for community partners are outside the primary scope of JUCOSCO.
